Fall Gala Update
Thank You for Your Support of Resident Benevolence at Our Fall Gala!
Monday evening, over 600 supporters of Sunset Retirement Communities & Services gathered at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville to celebrate 38 years of God’s blessings on an organization whose mission statement is to provide quality services to senior adults in a spirit of Christian love. This year’s Fall Gala was the largest attended event ever, helping to raise over $87,000 for Resident Benevolent Care, which enables residents who have outlived their resources to remain at Sunset and receive much needed care.
Sunset’s full heritage began 38 years ago, when members of local churches came together to provide a much-needed senior living community in the Jenison area. Over time, what began as The Manor, one living community, has expanded to Villages I & II and Waterford Place, Brookcrest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Meals at Home and Sunset Home Services.
The program at the Fall Gala featured the comedy of Ken Davis. Ken had everyone’s emotions running the full gamut; from laughing hilariously at every day events to tearing up at the frailty of our human bodies and minds when the ravages of Alzheimer’s strikes. Ken brought home that it is the relationships in life that are important, and that Sunset has what is needed to enrich and enhance the lives of its residents – at whatever stage they’re at - to the fullest.
We rejoice in the knowledge of God’s continued blessing and guidance as we address needs throughout our communities and services. Thank you for your support to advance our ministry to seniors.
