Dec 20, 2019 | Life At Sunset, Senior Living

The construction project will include independent living apartments and lakeside villas

Sunset Retirement Communities and Services will break ground in the fall of 2020 to begin construction on expansion of Waterford Place in Georgetown Township. Currently at over 228,000 square feet, the expansion will add 168,000 square footage to the campus and will include 62 independent living apartments at Waterford Glens and 20 lakefront villas at The Cove. Residents will enjoy access to a variety of new amenities including a clubhouse on the lake, state-of-the-art fitness center, new dining venues, a chapel, and covered parking.

“We are very excited for this opportunity to grow our ministry at Waterford Place which allows us to continue serving the increasing needs of older adults in West Michigan,” said Sunset Communities’ CEO Steve Zuiderveen. “The addition of Waterford Glens apartments and The Cove at Waterford Place villas will complete the development of this campus and position us to serve well into the future.”

Residents at Waterford Glens and The Cove will have access to the multitude of benefits that come with living in a Sunset Community which include continuum of care services with connection to assisted living and memory care facilities at Waterford Place, rehabilitation with therapeutic pool, life enrichment activities, natural walking paths, and beautiful grounds. Deposits on new apartments will be accepted in early 2020 and completion of construction is anticipated spring 2022.
